abdominal scar release
A caesarean birth is major abdominal surgery. So is a hysterectomy, a bowel resection, a laparoscopy, or any other procedure that leaves a scar across the abdomen. And yet, once the wound has closed, most women receive very little support for what that scar continues to do inside the body long after the surface has healed.
Scar tissue does not stay contained to the incision site. Over time it can create adhesions that pull through the surrounding tissue, affecting the abdominal wall, the diaphragm, the ribs, the hip flexors and the lower back. Women often notice this in ways they do not immediately connect to their scar.
If your scar feels numb, tingly, tight, pulling or simply disconnected from the rest of your body, this treatment is for you.
During a session, Lauren or Ariel will assess the scar and surrounding adhesions and treat using a combination of massage, cupping and needling to release tension, increase circulation and restore movement through the abdomen. The lower back and hips are also assessed, as these areas frequently contribute to scar discomfort in ways that go unaddressed.
Each session includes a before and after photo so you can see the changes taking place, even when they are subtle. You will also leave with breathwork and massage techniques to continue your scar work at home between appointments.
This treatment may help with:
✿ Numbness, tingling or hypersensitivity around the scar
✿ Pain, pulling or a feeling of being stuck
✿ Bladder or bowel changes
✿ Lower back and hip pain
✿ Reduced belly breathing or diaphragmatic restriction
✿ A general sense of disconnection from the lower abdomen
Initial consultations are 75 minutes. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes.

Treatment can begin once the wound has fully closed on the surface, typically around eight weeks postpartum, though this varies. Your practitioner will assess your scar at your first appointment and advise on the most appropriate timing and approach for you.

No. While many of our clients come in for c-section scar release, this treatment is also appropriate for women who have had a hysterectomy, bowel resection, laparoscopy, endometriosis surgery or any other abdominal procedure that has left scar tissue behind.

Treatment is gentle and completely guided by your comfort. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others, particularly where there is numbness or restricted circulation, but your practitioner will always work within what feels manageable for you. Many women find the treatment deeply relieving even in the first session.

We recommend a course of three sessions to achieve the best results, and offer a three session pack to make this accessible. Initial consultations are 75 minutes. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes.
