Motherhood asks a lot of a woman. It can surface things that have been quietly carried for years, reshape identity in ways nobody warned you about, and bring a level of emotional complexity that is rarely acknowledged honestly in the world outside these walls.
Our psychology services are dedicated to supporting women through exactly that. Care at Maia Mothers is warm, evidence-based and completely non-shaming. Our psychologists create a space where you can say what is actually going on, without having to perform wellness or explain yourself first.
We support women navigating a wide range of presentations including perinatal anxiety and depression, birth trauma, adjustment to motherhood, attachment and family dynamics, fertility challenges, IVF, and the grief that can accompany pregnancy loss. We also work with women managing ongoing mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence including autism and ADHD.
Our two psychologists bring different areas of specialisation, so women can find the right fit for where they are at.
Alex Hall specialises in perinatal mental health, neurodivergence and eating disorders, supporting women through the emotional and psychological complexity that can surface across the motherhood journey.
Ashlee Wells specialises in perinatal mental health and neurodivergence, with a particular passion for supporting AuDHD mothers. As an AuDHD mother herself, she brings both clinical expertise and lived understanding to her work.

No referral is required. You can book directly. However if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP you may be eligible for Medicare rebates, which can significantly reduce the out of pocket cost of sessions. We recommend speaking with your GP if you think this may apply to you.

A Mental Health Care Plan is a referral from your GP that allows you to access a set number of Medicare-rebated psychology sessions per year. You do not need one to book with us, but having one can make sessions more affordable. Your GP can assess your eligibility.
